About Us

Bravo Counseling LLC offers individual and family counseling. I utilize different methods of therapy including, but not limited to, Eye Movement Desensitization and Processing (EMDR), Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Forward Thinking Trauma Therapy (FTTT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).

The model really depends on the individual.

Additionally, assisting others to understand and utilize Collaborative Problem Solving and Interactive Therapy is another way of learning skills to assist with families and everyday life.

I enjoy working with the following populations: adolescents, young adults and LGBTQIA+.  Other areas of specialization are trauma, anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, career, communication, conflict resolution, cultural diversity, divorce adjustment, grief/loss, work problems, and parenting.

Currently insurances I am paneled with are OHP, Pacific Source, Moda, Regence Blue Cross and Blue Shield, TriCare, Cigna, Aetna, United Behavioral Health, GEHA, Mental Health Network, Optum, First Choice, and Health Net.  I can take Kaiser clients who have Kaiser PPO as well. I am also a counselor for many EAP agencies including Cascade Centers, Anthem EAP, Uprise Behavioral Health, Unicare, Beacon, and First Choice.

Therapist

Dr. Melissa Bravo, CCTP, NCC, LPC

I received my B.S. in psychology from Oregon State University in 2007 and an M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2010.  In 2020 I received my PhD from Capella University in Advanced Studies in Human Behavior.

I am currently licensed in the State of Oregon by the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and am also a National Certified Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors.  I hold a certification for Certified Clinical Trauma Professional that requires me to take courses throughout the year to keep my certification current.  Additionally, I am also a state of Oregon recognized supervisor for other mental health counselors looking to receive their licensure.

I use techniques from all models of therapy as I believe no one person responds to the same technique.  I have been providing therapy since 2009 and started with children, adolescents, and the intellectual and developmentally disabled population but found my passion with the adolescent and young adult population.  My other passion is treating all individuals who have experienced trauma in their lives and is close to my heart but that does not stop me from treating other disorders as well.
